Not wanting to stay within tradition, I have two honor attendants.
My matron of honor is Dena, a dear friend I met while working for Price Waterhouse. She is married to David and they have a child Kaitlyn. She and I are like 2 peas in a pod, with similar backgrounds and life experiences. She is like a sister to me.
My maid of honor is Isabel, another dear friend I met while working for Price Waterhouse. Isabel and I learned golf together, while always finding time to have a happy hour or two at the local South Carolina Chili's. Isabel and I shared many fajitas and ritas there.
I asked them to choose their bridesmaids gown and they did a great job. Here's their Bridesmaid's dress, though they will be wearing Sage and not bright red. The girls will get all dolled up on the day of the wedding thanks to Trimmings Bridal. The Best Man is Eon. Eon and Michael go way back. Waaaaaay back! They met in college, roomed together for a semester, took some classes together, and even studied (or not, as the case may be) together. I wonder if I can bribe Eon to tell me some embarrasing stories about Michael.
Michael's friend, Rick will escort me down the aisle. Rick was one of the first of Michael's Boston friends that I met in person. Rick and Michael both played softball for Kenan Systems and I met him after one of the games. Michael says Rick and he share the kind of friendship one can only have with someone one has shot many times. (The two of them have played survival and other combat simulations.)
Michael's nephew, William, and his neice, Betty are our Ring Bearer and Flowergirl. They both adore Uncle Michael dearly. We know the wedding will be just beautiful.
